POWEO is lead by an entrepreneurs’ team who first created successfully new telecommunication operators and financial companies. Theses entrepreneurs are daily surrounded by energy experts and tightly cooperate with researchers and teachers from high engineering school, to anticipate and innovate every day.

Charles Beigbeder - CEO

43 years old, Ecole Centrale de Paris graduated. He founded Self trade in 1997, on-line broker, he runt the company until it was acquired by DAB Bank, end 2000, then he was co-CEO of the new merged group. Before creating Self Trade, Charles Beigbeder was Associate Director of Investment Banking Department, MC-BBL Securities, London. He previously worked in Corporate Finance at Credit Suisse First Boston in Paris, after a first professional experience in Industrial Deals department at Paribas Bank.


Frédéric Granotier - Supply pole Director, Managing Director,

39 years old, Ecole Supérieure de Commerce (Business School) graduate and chartered accountant. Frederic is in charge of Marketing, Sales, Customer Services and Web. Before he co-founded POWEO, he was CFO and board member of Selftrade from 2000 to 2002. Frederic previously was a Senior Manager at Ernst and Young, in France and in the United States, in auditing and consulting.


Luc Poyer - Upstream Director

40 years old, ESSEC, IEP and ENA graduated. Luc started his career at the French Cour des Comptes. From 1998 to 2006 he had worked at TOTAL where he acquired an operational experience in diverse areas within the integrated energetic group. In his last positions he had been for 3 years in Chile Managing Director of Gasandes (transandes pipeline), then at the main office he had been responsible for one of the most important middle east gas program. At POWEO he is responsible for Amont Pole which includes CCGT generations projects, management of power generation activities and new business development.


Jérôme Knaepen - Sourcing Director

44 years old, Institut Supérieur de Gestion de Paris (business school) graduated. Jérôme worked in the financial field for 18 years (1984 – 2002) before entering POWEO in March 2003. During this period he had worked for diverse companies such as Credit Suisse First Boston or CIC Securities, mostly as a trader. As POWEO Sourcing Director is in charge among others of: portfolio’s management and optimization, modelization prices curve, administration and control of real and financial flows.


Johann Precht - Risk Management Director

50 years old, graduated of the Vienna University of Technology in 1982. He begins his career at VERBUND, the national Austrian operator. Since 1990, he has been member of numerous groups of experts within UCPTE, UNIPEDE, EURELECTRIC, EUROSTAT and he is chairman of several international study groups. In November 2001, he is appointed Managing Director for VERBUND new departments Optimization of Hydro Power Plants as well as Scheduling and Balance Management. He joined POWEO in January 2007 where he is notably in charge of the Risk Management and the development of Joint Venture projects between POWEO and VERBUND within POWEO production INC.


Eléonore Joder - Chief Financial Officer

38 years old, Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris graduated. Eléonore started her career in 1990 at Rhône-Poulenc where she occupied various functions in Corporate Finance: internal auditor, trader, senior treasury manager and mergers & acquisitions manager. She joined in 2001 Artemis Group, the holding company of the Pinault family as Director of Financing & Treasury. She joined POWEO in October 2006 and is now in charge of Accounting, Controlling, Treasury and Financing.


Bertrand Drouot l'Hermine - Strategy Director

Bertrand is 37. He has been graduated from ESCP in 1995, and started to work in New York with Credit Commercial de France (now within CCHBC Group) in Structured Finance, before he joined McKinsey & Company as a strategy consultant during 3 years. Bertrand has then been Chief Operation Officer of SkiHorizon a company that he has co-created developing booking engine solutions for professional of tourism industry. In 2002, Bertrand has joined Sidel (€1bn of sales, belongs to the Tetra Laval Group), one of the leading suppliers of complete bottling production lines for the beverage industry players, where he became Marketing & Strategy Group Vice-President in 2005.
